On of our clients in Dubai is looking for Hedging & Trading Executive (Zinc – LME)

Seeking a qualified professional to manage the Zinc hedging operations on the London Metal Exchange (LME) and support the expansion of the trading activities in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in non-ferrous metal trading or manufacturing, specifically with LME-based hedging and market operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Hedging & Risk Management (Primary Role)

  • Execute Zinc hedging transactions on the London Metal Exchange (LME) to manage price risk.
  • Monitor market movements, LME prices, and global trends to recommend hedging strategies.
  • Track open positions, exposure, and hedge effectiveness on a daily basis.
  • Maintain accurate records of hedging transactions and prepare mark-to-market valuations.
  • Coordinate closely with finance and procurement teams to align hedging activities with physical purchases and sales.

2. Trading & Business Development (Secondary Role)

  • Assist in expanding the company's trading footprint within the UAE.
  • Identify new buyers, suppliers, and trading opportunities in the non-ferrous metals market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with traders, brokers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Support negotiations for contracts, pricing, and payment terms.

3. Market Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform daily analysis of LME trends, inventory levels, macroeconomic indicators, and industry developments.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly hedging and trading reports for senior management.
  • Provide recommendations based on market data and exposure analysis.

4. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, LME regulations, and risk controls.
  • Maintain clear documentation of all hedging, trading, and financial transactions.
  • Support internal and external audits whenever required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Metallurgy, or a related field.
  • Minimum
    2–5 years
    of experience in
    non-ferrous metal trading or manufacturing
    , preferably with
    LME hedging experience (Zinc preferred)
    .
  • Strong understanding of futures, forwards, and derivative instruments.
  • Hands-on experience working with LME platforms and market data tools.

Key Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of non-ferrous metals (especially Zinc).
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Understanding of hedging strategies and derivative instruments.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make timely decisions.
  • Strong relationships with metal traders and brokers (advantage).
