Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team on a freelance contract basis in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing, monitoring, and optimizing Oracle databases in a complex enterprise environment. This role requires a proactive, senior-level professional who can take ownership of database performance, security, backup, and recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Oracle databases (12c/19c) including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning measures.
  • Plan, implement, and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Ensure database security, user access management, and compliance with standards.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, procedures, and policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to development teams on database-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues promptly.
  • Assist in database migration and replication projects.
  • Maintain high availability and uptime for mission-critical databases.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Experience:

6+ years as an Oracle DBA, with at least 2–3 years in a senior/lead role.

Technical Skills:

  • Oracle Database 12c/19c
  • RAC, Data Guard, ASM
  • SQL tuning, PL/SQL, backup/recovery solutions
  • Performance monitoring and troubleshooting

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
  • Oracle Database Administrator Certified Expert (OCE)

Soft Skills:

  • Proactive and solution-oriented
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently as a freelancer

Job Type: Contract

Contract length: 40 days
