Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Network Engineer - L2 based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role involves maintaining and improving network infrastructure, designing and implementing network solutions, troubleshooting network issues, ensuring network security, and collaborating with internal and external teams to meet technical requirements. The Network Engineer will also be responsible for performing network performance tuning and assisting with project rollouts and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide
    Level 2 support
    for network-related incidents, service requests, and escalations
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot
    LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN
    environments
  • Hands-on administration of
    routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve recurring network issues
  • Support network security implementations including firewall rules, NAT, and VPNs
  • Conduct
    onsite visits
    for installations, troubleshooting, and network changes
  • Coordinate with L1 engineers, vendors, and ISPs for issue resolution
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and configuration backups
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, security standards, and best practices

Technical Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of
    TCP/IP, VLANs, Routing & Switching
  • Experience with
    Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, Aruba, or similar networking technologies
  • Firewall management (policy configuration, VPNs, IPS/IDS basics)
  • Wireless network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Network monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Basic understanding of network security principles

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer (L2 or equivalent)
  • UAE Driving License is mandatory
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT, Networking, or related field
  • Industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, etc.) are a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
