Job Purpose

The MEP Coordinator is responsible for
coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services
across design and execution phases to ensure seamless integration with
interior fit-out, joinery, architectural, and civil works
, delivering projects
on time, within budget, and in compliance with UAE regulations and project specifications
.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Design & Coordination

  • Coordinate MEP designs with
    interior design, joinery, architectural, and structural drawings
    .
  • Review
    shop drawings, layouts, and specifications
    to identify clashes and discrepancies.
  • Ensure MEP services align with
    design intent, spatial constraints, and aesthetic requirements
    .
  • Participate in
    design coordination meetings
    with consultants, clients, and contractors.

Project Execution & Site Coordination

  • Coordinate with
    site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
    for smooth MEP execution.
  • Monitor installation of
    HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, fire fighting, ELV, and BMS systems
    .
  • Ensure works are carried out as per
    approved drawings, method statements, and material submittals
    .
  • Support project managers in resolving
    site issues and technical challenges
    .

Authority Approvals & Compliance

  • Coordinate with consultants and authorities for approvals from:
  • ADDC / AADC / DEWA
  • Civil Defence
  • Municipality / Free Zone Authorities
  • Ensure compliance with
    UAE building codes, authority regulations, and project standards
    .

Quality, Safety & Documentation

  • Ensure MEP works comply with
    QA/QC standards
    and project specifications.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain updated
    as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation
    .
  • Ensure adherence to
    HSE requirements
    on site.

Cost, Time & Interface Management

  • Assist in
    material take-offs, procurement coordination, and variation evaluations
    .
  • Identify potential delays or cost impacts related to MEP works and escalate proactively.
  • Coordinate interfaces between
    MEP, joinery, ceiling, flooring, partitions, and finishes
    .

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of
    interior fit-out MEP coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret
    MEP, architectural, and joinery drawings
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Time management and multitasking

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma / Bachelor's in
    Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
  • 3–7 years' experience
    in UAE, preferably in
    interior fit-out / design & build projects
  • Familiarity with
    Abu Dhabi & Dubai authority approval processes
  • Proficiency in
    AutoCAD
    , MS Office (Revit knowledge is an advantage)
