Job Summary

YSF Strategic Integration (Unit 3YC-S8) is recruiting a Senior Principal Systems Architect to define the operational technology (OT) landscape for critical national infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. This is a technical authority role. You will be responsible for the convergence of legacy industrial controls with next-generation secure networking. We are looking for an architect who can design systems that are robust enough to survive physical harshness and secure enough to withstand state-level cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • OT Architecture Design: Define the high-level architecture for complex SCADA, DCS, and PLC networks, strictly adhering to the Purdue Model (Levels 0–4) to ensure proper segmentation.
  • Cyber-Physical Security: Architect "Secure by Design" solutions for industrial networks, implementing data diodes, DMZs, and unidirectional gateways in compliance with IEC 62443 and NESA/IASA standards.
  • Legacy Modernization: Lead the strategy for integrating brownfield assets (legacy RTUs/PLCs) with modern HMI/Historian layers via protocols like OPC-UA and MQTT, without disrupting operations.
  • Vendor Governance: Act as the technical lead in evaluating and managing major OEM solutions (Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, ABB), ensuring technical compliance with project specifications.
  • Protocol Standardization: Define the roadmap for industrial communication standards (DNP3, Modbus TCP, IEC across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 15–20 years in Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS), with at least 8 years as a Lead Architect for Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or Defense.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of DCS/SCADA internals (Server-Client architecture, Real-time databases, Alarm Management).
  • Cybersecurity: Strong grasp of OT Security. Certifications like GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or CISSP are highly preferred.
  • Education: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or Computer Engineering.
  • Regulatory: Familiarity with UAE critical infrastructure regulations (ADDOE, CICPA) is a distinct advantage.
  • Mindset: A "Safety First" mentality. You must understand Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and SIL levels.
