Crushers Electrician

1. Job Purpose

To perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair works for the crusher plant, heavy machinery, conveyors, motors, panels, and site electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operation.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Electrical Maintenance & Repair

• Carry out routine, preventive, and corrective electrical maintenance on:
• Crusher units (Jaw Crusher, Cone Crusher, Impact Crusher).
• Vibrating screens, feeders, and conveyors.
• Motors, VFDs, soft starters, and control panels.
• MCC (Motor Control Center) and distribution boards.
• Electrical wiring for pumps, compressors, lighting, and site equipment.
• Inspect and repair faulty circuits, short circuits, wiring, relays, switches, and breakers.
• Replace motors, sensors, cables, limit switches, and control components as required.

B. Troubleshooting

• Diagnose electrical faults and breakdowns in crusher machinery with minimal downtime.
• Use electrical testing tools (multimeter, clamp meter, megger) to identify issues.
• Provide immediate corrective action during plant breakdown.

C. Installation & Commissioning

• Install and connect new electrical equipment, motors, panels, and wiring.
• Assist in commissioning of new crushers, screens, conveyors, and plant upgrades.
• Ensure proper cable routing, cable tray installation, and load distribution.

D. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all electrical safety protocols, LOTO (Lock-out/Tag-out), and plant safety rules.
• Ensure safe isolation before working on live equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe electrical workshops and panels.
• Report unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors.

E. Documentation & Reporting

• Record daily activities, breakdowns, replaced parts, and electrical readings.
• Assist in preparing preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintain inventory of electrical spare parts and tools.
• Coordinate with the workshop/store for required materials.

3. Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / ITI Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Electrician.
• 3–7 years' experience as an Electrician in Crusher plants, Quarry operations, or Heavy Industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of crusher equipment, motors, VFDs, MCC panels, and industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Familiar with HSE procedures and site safety regulations.

4. Skills & Competencies

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems (AC motors, control circuits, VFDs).
• Ability to work under pressure during breakdowns.
• Teamwork and communication with mechanics, operators, and supervisors.
• Basic computer or mobile reporting skills (preferred).

5. Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to work in dusty, hot, and noisy quarry/crusher environment.
• Flexibility to work overtime, night shifts, and emergency call-outs.
• Physically fit to handle electrical components and tools.

6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Plant electrical uptime (%).
• Response time to electrical breakdowns.
• Reduction in repeated electrical faults.
• Compliance with electrical safety standards.
• Timely completion of preventive maintenance.
