Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position for a Construction Manager based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The Construction Manager will oversee construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards. Daily responsibilities include supervising site activities, managing teams, monitoring project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, and implementing safety protocols to achieve project goals.

Job Purpose

To lead and manage offshore construction activities for ADNOC offshore oil & gas projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution in line with ADNOC HSE, engineering standards, project specifications, and contractual requirements, while meeting schedule and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Offshore Construction Management

Lead offshore construction execution for ADNOC projects including platforms, jackets, topsides, pipelines, brownfield modifications, hook-up & commissioning support.

Ensure all construction activities comply with ADNOC Codes of Practice (CoP), project specifications, approved drawings, and procedures.

Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, commissioning, marine, and operations teams.

Manage offshore work scopes, construction sequences, and interface activities.

HSE & ADNOC Compliance

Enforce strict adherence to ADNOC HSEMS, Life Saving Rules, and offshore safety requirements.

Ensure full compliance with PTW, SIMOPS, JSA, TRA, and risk assessments.

Lead offshore safety meetings, toolbox talks, and HSE audits.

Ensure incident reporting, investigation, and implementation of corrective actions as per ADNOC requirements.

Contractor & Team Leadership

Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors, and offshore construction crews.

Supervise discipline construction leads (Mechanical, Piping, Structural, Electrical & Instrumentation).

Evaluate contractor performance against ADNOC KPIs (HSE, quality, schedule).

Quality Assurance & Control

Ensure construction works meet ADNOC quality standards and international codes.

Coordinate inspections, test packs, punch list management, and system handover.

Support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.

Planning, Cost & Reporting

Review and approve construction schedules, method statements, and work packs.

Monitor offshore progress, productivity, and cost performance.

Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ADNOC and project management.

Identify risks, constraints, and mitigation plans to avoid delays or overruns.

Interface & Stakeholder Coordination

Act as the main offshore interface with ADNOC representatives, marine warranty surveyors, third-party inspectors, and certifying authorities.

Coordinate marine operations, vessel movements, lifting activities, and logistics.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or equivalent).

ADNOC-approved or ADNOC-experienced profiles preferred.

Certifications preferred:

NEBOSH / IOSH

OPITO (BOSIET / HUET)

PMP (advantage)

Experience Requirements

10+ years total experience in Offshore Oil & Gas construction.

Minimum 5 years as Construction Manager or Senior Construction role on offshore projects.

Proven ADNOC Offshore experience is mandatory.

Strong background in UAE offshore projects, EPC execution, and brownfield modifications.

Technical Knowledge

ADNOC Codes of Practice, Engineering Standards, and HSE requirements.

Offshore installation, hook-up, commissioning support, and SIMOPS.

International standards: API, DNV, ISO, ASME, IEC.

Heavy lifting, marine operations, and offshore logistics.

Key Competencies

Strong leadership and offshore decision-making capability.

Excellent communication with ADNOC and EPC stakeholders.

High safety leadership mindset.

Ability to work under pressure in offshore rotational environments.

Working Conditions

Offshore rotational assignment (e.g., 75/15 or project-based).

UAE Offshore facilities under ADNOC jurisdiction.
