ELV Design and Engineer

Main Objective

The ELV Design & Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Structured Cabling, and related security systems in compliance with UAE and SIRA standards. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, coordination with clients, consultants, and contractors, and ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Planning
• Develop detailed designs, schematics, and layout drawings for ELV systems including CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, SMATV, Fire Alarm, Public Address, and Structured Cabling.
• Prepare technical documentation such as BOQs, specifications, and shop drawings in line with project requirements and SIRA guidelines.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare as-built drawings after project completion.
• Project Coordination & Execution
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and clients for design approvals and system integration requirements.
• Oversee installation, configuration, and commissioning of ELV systems as per approved design and standards.
• Ensure all systems are tested, calibrated, and commissioned according to manufacturer and SIRA compliance requirements.
• Regulatory Compliance
• Liaise with SIRA (Security Industry Regulatory Agency) for design approvals, inspections, and certifications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SIRA regulations, Dubai Civil Defence (DCD), and other local authority standards relevant to ELV systems.
• Ensure all installations adhere to UAE Fire & Life Safety Codes, SIRA technical standards, and client-specific security protocols.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate project documentation including design revisions, test reports, compliance certificates, and O&M manuals.
• Provide weekly progress updates to the Project Manager and highlight potential design or installation challenges.
• Prepare handover documents and coordinate final inspections with clients and authorities.
• Technical Support
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to the site installation team.
• Conduct training sessions for technicians and operators on installed systems.
• Review new technologies and recommend cost-effective, innovative ELV solutions to improve project efficiency.
• Quality & Safety
• Ensure implementation of company quality assurance and safety procedures at project sites.
• Inspect ongoing works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Report and rectify any non-conformances promptly.
• Other Responsibilities
• Support tendering team with technical inputs, design proposals, and cost estimations.
• Attend client and consultant meetings as required.
• Undertake additional tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Engineering Head.

Qualifications & Skill Set

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunications / Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
• Valid SIRA Engineer License (mandatory).
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in ELV system design, installation, and commissioning within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of SIRA standards, DCD codes, and local authority procedures.
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing:
• CCTV & Video Surveillance Systems
• Access Control Systems
• Fire Alarm & Voice Evacuation Systems
• Structured Cabling & Networking
• Intercom, SMATV, and Public Address Systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and ELV design tools/software.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and project management skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability and technical acumen.
• Valid UAE driving license preferred.

Work Schedule & Location

• Employment Type: Full-time (8 hours/day – 5 or 6 working days/week, depending on project schedule)
• Work Days: Sunday to Thursday / Monday to Saturday (as per company policy)
• Timings: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Work Location: Dubai, UAE (Project sites across the UAE)
• Travel: Occasional travel within UAE for site visits and SIRA inspections may be required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED7, AED11,000.00 per month
