*Position:* Senior Design Engineer – Electrical

*Reports To:* Engineering Manager / Design Manager
*Role Purpose:*
To lead and oversee the design, review, and development of electrical systems for large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with authority regulations (ADDC/DEWA) and international standards. The role demands strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions within project timelines.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Lead electrical design activities from concept to detailed design, including drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
* Ensure compliance with *ADDC, DEWA, and other local authority regulations*, codes, and standards.
* Perform *load calculations, fault level analysis, cable sizing, protection coordination, and power system studies* using industry-standard software (E-Tab preferred).
* Review and approve electrical design documents, shop drawings, and material submittals.
* Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and authority representatives for approvals and NOCs.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and CAD technicians.
* Support project execution teams with design clarifications, site coordination, and inspections.
* Prepare reports, design notes, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and sustainability requirements.
*Qualifications & Skills:** Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's degree is an advantage).
* Minimum *10 years of experience* in electrical design within the UAE/GCC region.
* Strong knowledge of *ADDC/DEWA authority requirements and approval processes*.
* Proficiency in *E-Tab (ETAP)* and other design software tools for electrical calculations.
* Excellent project coordination and documentation skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
*Preferred Competencies:*
* Authority liaison and experience in securing approvals (ADDC , DEWA etc).
* Exposure to mission-critical facilities and high-reliability electrical design.
* Leadership skills with the ability to guide a design team.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
