The job holder will be required to help the Dentist in providing chair side assistance and documentation. Also, it is expected that the job holder should follow the policies of the facility and regulations of DOH to ensure the safety and increase the level of satisfaction of patients experience at the center.

A. Patient Care

  • Provide patient care.
  • Collect and record medical and dental histories.
  • Work with patients and making them comfortable regarding the procedure.
  • Prepare patients for their treatments.
  • Keep the patient's mouth free of excess saliva, blood, tooth fragments and other dental materials
  • Assist dentist with procedures when necessary.

B. Dental Procedure

  • Prepare the work area and complete various assigned lab tasks.
  • Take impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
  • Fabricate temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions.
  • Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
  • Help with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
  • Care for dental equipment
  • Fill the water laser logbook when required

Qualifications:

  • With at least 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant (DOH/HAAD Licensed as Dental Assistant)
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment and aware of the Emirati culture
  • Able to give clear direction to patient/colleagues
  • Able to relate well with people and understand their situation
  • Ability to work in a pressurized work environment
  • Working experience in a hospital or dental center is a plus
  • Knowledge in using Dental EMR is a plus
