Assistant Manager – Sustainability

Position Overview

The Assistant Manager – Sustainability & Green Building Consultancy leads the delivery of green building, sustainability, ESG, and digital certification projects.

The role oversees technical execution, client management, proposal development, and the overall operational performance of the sustainability vertical.

This position ensures high-quality service delivery, supports business growth, and strengthens the company's position as a sustainability and green building leader.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Project Delivery

• Manage the full lifecycle of sustainability and green building consultancy projects.
• Deliver LEED BD+C, O+M, ID+C, WELL, and Estidama certifications.
• Oversee sustainability documentation, scorecards, assessments, audits, and technical submissions.
• Conduct carbon accounting, energy performance reviews, IEQ assessments, and sustainability evaluations.
• Ensure all deliverables meet international compliance and quality standards.

2. Client Management & Engagement

• Serve as the primary technical and operational liaison with company clients across all sustainability projects.
• Maintain strong relationships with developers, consultants, contractors, FM teams, and authorities.
• Conduct client meetings, workshops, and presentations to ensure alignment and project clarity.
• Provide proactive advisory, technical guidance, and strategic recommendations tailored to client requirements.
• Handle escalations, project updates, decision-making support, and client satisfaction initiatives.

3. Proposal, Commercial Support & Quotation Development

• Lead preparation of technical and commercial proposals for sustainability and certification services.
• Develop pricing structures, fee quotations, and commercial offers aligned with company policies.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Finance to structure competitive and profitable proposals.
• Review RFP/RFQ requirements, develop submission strategies, and ensure timely, high-quality proposal deliveries.
• Support tender clarifications, negotiations, and client follow-up to secure new projects.
• Contribute to forecasting, pipeline development, and revenue planning for the vertical.

4. Team Coordination & Leadership

• Supervise junior engineers, consultants, and outsourced subject-matter specialists.
• Allocate tasks, oversee workloads, and ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
• Support internal capability development through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.
• Maintain updated templates, tools, and best-practice processes for consistent delivery.

5. Operational Excellence & Reporting

• Develop project action plans, schedules, risk registers, and execution frameworks.
• Maintain systematic documentation, record-keeping, and quality assurance protocols.
• Prepare progress reports, sustainability assessments, carbon reports, and management summaries.
• Guide continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to best practices.

6. Compliance, Governance & Standards Alignment

• Ensure compliance with LEED, WELL, Estidama and international sustainability frameworks.
• Monitor evolving regulations, standards, and emerging industry trends.
• Advise management on regulatory risk, compliance gaps, and improvement strategies.

Required Qualifications Education

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Sustainability/Environmental Engineering, or related fields

Professional Certifications

• LEED AP (BD+C and/or O+M)
• WELL AP
• Carbon Auditing Professional (CAP)
• Estidama PQP (advantage)

Experience

• 5–7 years in sustainability engineering or green building consultancy.
• Demonstrated experience delivering LEED, WELL, and other certification projects.
• Experience preparing proposals, quotations, and commercial submissions.
• Proven track record managing client relationships and multi-disciplinary teams.
