Desired Candidate Profile

Lifting Operations Management

1.Supervise and coordinate all lifting activities at the pipeline project site in accordance with ADNOC Codes of Practice (CoP 34, CoP 36) and project HSE requirements.

Ensure safe execution of lifting operations involving cranes, forklifts, hydra cranes, side booms, excavator lifts, and other lifting equipment.

Review and validate Lifting Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments (RA) provided by the Rigging Supervisor / Lifting Engineer.

Conduct toolbox talks prior to every lifting operation and ensure all team members understand their responsibilities.

  1. Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict compliance with ADNOC lifting regulations, company HSE policies, PTW (Permit to Work) system, and pipeline project standards.

Inspect lifting equipment, accessories, slings, shackles, spreader beams, and ensure valid third-party certifications.

Stop any unsafe act or condition immediately and report to the site management.

Maintain proper lifting documentation and logbooks as required by ADNOC.

  1. Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with Construction Supervisors, Rigging Teams, Crane Operators, and HSE Officers to plan and execute lifts safely.

Verify ground conditions, access routes, and crane positioning for pipeline lifting activities.

Liaise with ADNOC representatives for lifting approvals wherever required.

  1. Technical Responsibilities

Supervise heavy lifts such as pipe string lifting, valve assembly loading/unloading, pipe rack erection, trench lifting, and equipment movement.

Ensure correct rigging practices, load calculations, center of gravity, and lifting gear selection.

Monitor weather conditions to determine safe lifting windows (wind speeds, visibility, etc.).

  1. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare daily lifting activity reports and submit to project management.

Ensure all lifting crew are competent and certified by approved bodies.

Report incidents, near misses, and corrective actions as per ADNOC requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical / Civil / Engineering or equivalent.

ADNOC Approved Lifting Supervisor Certificate (mandatory).

Minimum 5–10 years of experience in lifting supervision, preferably in pipeline construction projects.

Strong knowledge of ADNOC practices and UAE lifting regulations.

Valid certifications for:

Lifting Supervisor

Rigging & Slinging

Crane Safety

H2S & BA (ADNOC-approved)

PTW training (ADNOC Onshore/Offshore)

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of lifting engineering principles.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Ability to manage multi-national lifting/rigger teams.

Strong focus on safety, risk mitigation, and compliance.

Ability to read and interpret lifting plans and technical drawings.

  • Proven ability to create comprehensive lifting plans, including risk assessments, method statements, and rigging diagrams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, enabling effective guidance and supervision of lifting teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to safety, with a proven track record of incident prevention and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken, facilitating clear communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments, including outdoor settings and varying weather conditions.
