A civil engineer in building construction is responsible for the planning, design, and oversight of a project from start to finish, ensuring it is safe, efficient, and compliant with regulations.

Core responsibilities:

  • Design and planning: Create detailed designs and blueprints using specialized software, ensuring they meet project requirements, architectural plans, and relevant codes.
  • Site management: Oversee daily on-site activities, including excavation, concrete pouring, and rebar placement. This involves planning and scheduling work, delegating tasks, and managing laborers.
  • Project management: Manage project budgets, estimate material and labor costs, and ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.
  • Risk assessment: Analyze geological, environmental, and soil data to identify potential risks and ensure project feasibility and safety.
  • Compliance and safety: Monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to safety standards, building codes, and project specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, surveyors, contractors, and government agencies to ensure effective project execution.
  • Problem-solving: Identify and resolve issues that arise during the design and construction phases.

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven working experience in civil engineering for 2 -5 years in UAE.
  • Experiences in high rise buildings, towers and villas.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar.
  • Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.
  • Project management and supervision skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • License of professional engineer.
  • BS/MA in Civil Engineering.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4, AED6,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Sharjah: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
