About the Role

The Quality Assurance Specialist position is a mid-level, onsite role dedicated to upholding and enhancing product quality within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all products consistently meet rigorous internal and regulatory standards, directly impacting consumer safety and brand reputation. The specialist will work closely with production, supply chain, and regulatory teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance within a dynamic, high-volume manufacturing setting in Dubai, UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to verify compliance with established quality standards and specifications.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation in alignment with FMCG industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and analyze production processes, identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for quality incidents, non-conformances, and customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
• Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, and follow-up on audit findings to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO, HACCP, and other relevant standards.
• Train production and warehouse staff on quality control procedures, hygiene standards, and safe handling practices to foster a culture of quality and safety.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, test results, deviations, and corrective actions, ensuring traceability and readiness for regulatory review.
• Collaborate with procurement and supplier management teams to assess and qualify suppliers, monitor incoming materials, and address quality issues at the source.
• Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools to monitor trends, identify risks, and recommend process optimizations.
• Support new product development initiatives by providing quality input during formulation, pilot runs, and scale-up phases.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in quality assurance or quality control within the FMCG, food, beverage, or related manufacturing sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), including ISO 9001, HACCP, and GMP standards, with hands-on experience in audit preparation and compliance.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Proficiency in inspection and testing methodologies, including sensory evaluation, physical and chemical testing, and use of laboratory equipment.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining quality records.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration, staff training, and supplier engagement.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to FMCG products in the UAE and GCC region.
• Competency in using quality management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Industrial Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
• Professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, HACCP, or Six Sigma Green Belt are highly advantageous.
• Ongoing professional development in quality assurance, regulatory affairs, or process improvement is desirable.
