Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with genetic conditions, including detailed medical histories
- Interpret and explain genetic test results, ensuring clear communication with patients and their families
- Develop individualized treatment plans informed by genetic data and patient health
- Provide genetic counseling to patients, discussing the implications of genetic disorders and available options
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to design comprehensive care strategies for patients
- Participate in educational initiatives and research to advance the field of genetics
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
Requirements
- Medical Degree (M.D. or D.O.) with a focus on Clinical Genetics
- Board certification in Clinical Genetics is required
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
- At least 3 years of experience in clinical genetics or related field
- Strong expertise in genetic testing methodologies and counseling practices
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to relate complex information in an understandable manner
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in patient care
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus
