Lab Associate

Below mentioned are the responsibilities to be performed to meet quality and production goals:

LAB WEIGHTS & MEASURES

o Measure stone weight, proportions and other required data; prepare each stone for subsequent processes in accordance with procedures and requirements.

o Analyze stone proportions and measurements.

o Operate colorimeter- (Measure the intensity or concentration of the color).

o Measure Fluorescence (Measure tendency to emit soft colored glow when subject to Ultraviolet light) & other devices related to Pre-grading.

LAB INSCRIPTION

o Perform the requested Inscription Service per required procedures and requirement

o Operate inscription device

o Perform inscription support activities if assigned (e.g. inking, cleaning, sending/receiving, verifying inscription, Capturing Image etc.)

LAB INVENTORY CONTROL

o Facilitate and distribute stones among assigned lab production functions to ensure a smooth production workflow.

o Identify stone workflow status at each production step and resolve any issues

o Store stones for next process step in the system and physical location appropriately; facilitate easy retrieval through efficient storage in accordance with required processes

o File/pull from the Wall, distribute stones and organize workflow

o Perform Vault/IC opening and closing processes

o Reconciling the Lab inventory by following the reconciliation process (Physical and Electronic verification).

LAB REPORT PROCESSING

o Prepare Reports for clients after requested services have been completed

o Coordinate with CSR for scheduling report printing when needed

o Ensuring the right stone with the right report is forwarded to the next process for return.

o File/pull from the Wall, distribute stones and organize workflow for any additional service.

o Perform printer maintenance, as needed, to keep production moving (e.g. fix paper jams, replace toner, clean, etc.) if applicable

o Follow defined procedures/guidelines to perform the job; complete tasks through application of detailed procedural knowledge of many different varied processes and methods.

o Use judgement to select appropriate action from defined procedures using business sense and the provided training on handling similar situations; seek help from Lab Specialist for troubleshooting more complex technical questions.

Ability to suggest solutions for specific situations with guidance from management

o Typically require High School / Diploma or 1+ years related experience.· Sound knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

· Proficiency in functional department Standard Operating Procedures.

· Proficiency in Lab production workflows.

· Problem-solving abilities: Identify problems and fix or escalate as required; fact finding to determine the best approach to solve the problems; Apply basic analytical thinking to clarify issues and propose solutions with sound judgement and decision-making abilities.

· Effective communication skills: Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking clearly and ability to read and comprehend English (Spectrum, training in English); communicate professionally (communicate respectfully, listen, articulate/explain issues, use professional tone, know when to email vs call, etc.)

· Detail oriented / Ability to focus and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner.

· Proficiency in using production and office equipment to perform the job assigned (tweezers, scales, stone-holder, microscope, devices and tools etc.)

· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

· Interpersonal skills: create positive interactions with colleagues; actively communicate with others in a timely & professional manner; maintain good working relationship with others and peers with a team-oriented mind set.

· Ability to share technical / functional knowledge with others to enhance productivity and collaboration.
