Job Description: Irrigation Engineer (Landscaping Projects)

The Irrigation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain advanced irrigation systems for landscaping projects, ensuring optimal water distribution, plant health, and long‑term system efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise in hydraulics, smart irrigation technologies, and landscape‑specific water management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design irrigation systems tailored to landscape layouts, plant types, soil conditions, and climate requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess water pressure, flow rates, soil infiltration, and environmental constraints.
  • Prepare irrigation drawings, hydraulic calculations, and BOQs for landscaping projects.
  • Select appropriate irrigation components (pumps, valves, drip lines, sprinklers, controllers, filters).
  • Oversee installation of irrigation networks, ensuring alignment with landscape plans and engineering standards.
  • Integrate smart irrigation technologies such as moisture sensors, weather‑based controllers, and automated systems.
  • Troubleshoot system issues including leaks, pressure imbalances, electrical faults, and clogged emitters.
  • Coordinate closely with landscape engineers, horticulturists, and project managers to ensure seamless execution.
  • Ensure compliance with local municipality regulations, sustainability guidelines, and water‑efficiency standards.
  • Conduct post‑installation audits and prepare maintenance schedules for long‑term system performance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Irrigation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Landscape Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, water distribution, and irrigation system design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, or irrigation‑specific design software.
  • Knowledge of landscape plants, soil types, and water requirements.
  • Experience with smart irrigation systems and modern controllers.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in irrigation engineering for landscaping projects.
  • Experience working in GCC climates, especially with water‑efficient and drip irrigation systems.
  • Familiarity with UAE municipality standards and sustainability requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with landscape contractors and horticulture teams.
