—the largest bulk port in the region.

Role Overview

Health and Safety Supervisor
monitors and inspects all ongoing activities within the port's responsibility in line with HSEQ strategy, ensuring no unsafe act or working conditions exist.
Health and Safety Supervisor
responsible for making sure all personnel are following a safe system of work as per the regulations laid down by Saqr Port, and conducts regular safety patrols and delivers training, and toolbox talks as and where required.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure safe systems of work are carried out:

  • Ensure all personnel working with the port conform to Port H&S regulations
  • Conduct adhoc patrols within areas of the port to ensure compliance
  • Review Permit to Work requests and related documents received from tenants, contractors and shipping agencies.
  • Carry out Inspections of port facilities and work environments, issuing relevant Permit to Work and associated approval documentation where required.
  • Identify any health and welfare issues and inform Assistant HSEQ Manager.
  • Maintain an occurrence record of all activities and submit report to HSEQ Manager
  • Inspect contractor and port employees PPE for serviceability and correct usage

Carry out scheduled and preventative tasks:

  • Ensure bunkering and dangerous goods supply operations are done in a safe manner as per the relevant procedure
  • Ensure toolbox talks are delivered prior to commencement of shift work, assisting where needed.
  • Ensure all port users are following the proper traffic regulations and adhere to mandatory PPE requirements when working within port limits.
  • Carry out induction training.
  • Conduct awareness training to Port staff as and when instructed by HSEQ Manager.
  • Carry out scheduled testing of fire alarm systems and inspection of Portable fire extinguishers.
  • Carry out gas free testing, inspection of Scaffold, specialised PPE like Harness, RPE life jacket etc. as and when required.
  • Provide H&S coverage to all ports within the group as required by HSEQ Manager and actively promote a positive H&S culture.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Relevant bachelor's degree/diploma with a minimum of 4 years' experience in Health and Safety
  • NEBOSH IGC or its equivalent level 3 international certificate
  • Computer literate (specifically MS Office)
  • UAE Driving license essential
