IT Infrastructure Engineer – Job Description

The position is required for an IT Management Company to be based at the Dubai office. Position required asap and immediate joiners are preferred.

Overview

We are seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, secure, and maintain the core technology infrastructure that supports our business operations. The ideal candidate has deep experience with servers, networks, storage, cloud platforms, and automation, along with strong troubleshooting and project delivery skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain on-premise and cloud infrastructure (servers, networks, virtualization, storage).
  • Manage and optimize Windows Server and/or Linux environments, including patching, security hardening, and lifecycle management.
  • Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi or Hyper-V.
  • Configure and support network devices—switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers—as needed.
  • Implement and manage identity and access management systems (Active Directory, Azure AD).
  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform) for deployment and operations.
  • Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams to ensure a robust and secure infrastructure.
  • Document infrastructure architecture, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide Tier 3/advanced support for escalated technical issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure or systems engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Proficiency with network fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls.
  • Experience with backup systems, monitoring tools, and log management.
  • Scripting/automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, or configuration tools.
  • Understanding of security best practices, compliance, and system hardening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as VMware VCP, Microsoft Azure/AWS certifications, CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or RHCSA/RHCE.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, or DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on reliability and performance.
