Job Title: Procurement Engineer – Fit Out Contracting

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Engineer with a proven track record in the fit-out contracting sector in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate understands the fast-paced nature of commercial and residential fit-out works, has strong supplier networks in the UAE, and can balance technical evaluation with cost, quality, and lead-time management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement for all fit-out project materials, finishes, joinery items, MEP-related components, and specialist products.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs to identify procurement requirements.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors to secure competitive pricing, optimal terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
  • Prepare comparison sheets, technical evaluations, and vendor/subcontractor recommendations for management approval.
  • Issue purchase orders and contracts in line with project timelines and company procedures.
  • Monitor supplier performance, deliveries, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, QS, Design, and Site Teams to ensure materials align with project specifications and are delivered on time.
  • Manage procurement logs and track all orders to avoid delays or site disruptions.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering options without compromising quality.
  • Maintain an updated database of approved suppliers, subcontractors, and material vendors in the UAE market.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and local regulations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) or related field.
  • Minimum 3–6 years of UAE experience in fit-out contracting procurement (mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of materials used in interior fit-out, joinery, and MEP works.
  • Proven negotiation skills and vendor-management capability.
  • Excellent knowledge of UAE (especially Abu Dhabi) supplier markets.
  • Familiarity with procurement software, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent orders.

Preferred Attributes

  • Existing supplier/subcontractor network in the UAE fit-out industry.
  • Experience handling fast-track projects with tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, commercially sharp, and proactive in problem-solving.
