About the Role – Sr. Procurement Engineer (IT)

As a Senior Procurement Engineer – IT, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the organization's IT procurement ecosystem across head office and project locations. This role requires a strong blend of technical understanding, commercial acumen, and strategic vendor management, ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and timely procurement of IT solutions that support business objectives.

You will work closely with IT, Finance, and internal stakeholders to translate technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies while driving value through negotiations and long-term vendor partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end IT procurement activities for corporate office and project sites
  • Procure IT hardware, software, systems, licenses, cloud solutions, and IT services
  • Collaborate with IT teams to finalize technical specifications and scope of requirements
  • Float RFQs/RFPs, evaluate technical and commercial bids, and lead vendor negotiations
  • Handle Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), contracts, renewals, and SLAs
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, compliance, and service delivery standards
  • Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies, governance, and audit requirements
  • Track IT procurement budgets and drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and support management reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
  • 8–12+ years of hands-on experience in IT procurement within large organizations
  • Proven exposure to procurement of IT infrastructure, enterprise software, licenses, and IT services
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
  • UAE / GCC market experience is highly preferred

  • Strong understanding of IT procurement lifecycle and technology landscapes
  • Excellent vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost control skills
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and convert them into commercial sourcing strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization
  • High attention to detail, compliance orientation, and documentation discipline
  • Effective stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
