About the Role:

Flight Manager is responsible for all flight operations, allocate resources with correct competence and make sure the flight crew has been trained and authorized for the assigned mission. Provide the organisation with correct conditions to execute flight operations.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Completed higher education
  • At a minimum 5 years in aerospace managerial/leadership role
  • At a minim 5 years of flight operation experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and UAS regulatory framework and flight permit processes
  • Knowledge of risk management for operation.
  • Knowledge in human factor and crew resource management.
  • Experience with UAS flight testing.
  • Sound technical and systems engineering understanding. Process-oriented and structured work methods.
  • Hands-on attitude
  • Responsible. Good communication skills. High social skills and good analytical and technical understanding.
  • Solid computer skills and basic ERP knowledge.
  • Good language skills in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of suitably qualified, trained, and current personnel capable of safely executing their duties.
  • Promote flight safety within the organization.
  • Plan and execute flights with company UAS platform.
  • Support fleet management of the active UAS (schedule and unscheduled maintenance, pre-post flight inspection, preparation for test activities, ...).
  • Establish, maintain, and ensure flight operation training of internal personnel and/or customers.
  • Establish and maintain ground support equipment and any tool required for the flight.
  • Working independently and responsibly while focusing on overall departmental results.
  • International travel required of up to 40% of employee' working hours.
  • Co-ordination with Swiss headquarter for flight operation topics and planning
  • Ensuring that a balance exists between allotted tasks, competence of the flight crews and available flight operational resources
  • Follow-up of flight times and rest periods for the personnel
  • Ensure all relevant flight permits and flight operation documents are valid
  • Ensuring that instructions and safety procedures regarding all flight activities have been established and are followed
