The Structural Engineer will be responsible for developing and reviewing structural engineering deliverables during the Engineering phase of onshore oil and gas projects. The role involves executing and supporting FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Detail Design tasks while ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes, and client requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and review structural engineering deliverables, including calculations, specifications, datasheets, design reports, and drawings.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of onshore oil & gas facilities such as pipe racks, equipment foundations, buildings, shelters, steel structures, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure full integration of structural requirements.
  • Review vendor documents and engineering design packages, ensuring alignment with project standards.
  • Support design optimization, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
  • Attend technical meetings, design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID sessions, and provide engineering inputs.
  • Ensure all engineering activities adhere to international codes (API, AISC, BS, Eurocodes, ASCE, etc.) and company QA/QC procedures.
  • Provide technical support during procurement and construction as required.
  • Prepare engineering progress reports and ensure timely delivery of all assigned deliverables.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/Structural Engineering (master's degree is an advantage).
  • 6-12 years of experience in structural engineering within the onshore oil & gas sector.
  • Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering / Detail Design.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD. Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SACS, SAFE, etc.
  • Solid understanding of international structural design codes and industry standards.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors or large engineering consultancies is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills.
