Job Summary

RSK Financial Capital & Advisory is seeking a Senior Principal Risk Officer to anchor our risk management framework in Dubai (DIFC). In this hybrid role, you will own the convergence of Market Risk (volatility, liquidity, rates) and Credit Risk (counterparty exposure, default probability). We are looking for a quantitative thinker who can build stress-testing models that withstand "Black Swan" events while enabling the firm to seize aggressive market opportunities. You will not just monitor limits; you will help define the firm's risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Holistic Risk Architecture: Design and maintain a unified risk framework that captures the correlation between Market movements and Counterparty Credit risk (Wrong-Way Risk).
  • Quantitative Modeling: Oversee the calculation of VaR, Expected Shortfall (ES), and PFE (Potential Future Exposure). You must be able to validate and challenge the models used by the front office.
  • Credit Adjudication: Lead the credit review process for corporate borrowers and institutional counterparties, assigning internal ratings and setting exposure limits.
  • Stress Testing: Run rigorous scenario analysis (e.g., geopolitical shocks, interest rate spikes) to test the resilience of the firm's capital adequacy (ICAAP) and liquidity (ILAAP).
  • Collateral Management: Monitor margin requirements and collateral haircuts in real-time, particularly for derivative positions.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Ensure full compliance with DFSA (Dubai Financial Services Authority) prudential rules regarding capital requirements and risk disclosures.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 12–15 years in Risk Management within a Global Investment Bank, Hedge Fund, or Commodity Trading House.
  • Technical Skills: Deep expertise in Python, R, or MATLAB for risk modeling. You must be comfortable working with large datasets and Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Domain Knowledge: Mastery of financial products (FX Options, Swaps, Structured Credit, Private Debt).
  • Education: Master's degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics. FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA designation is mandatory.
  • Regulatory: Prior experience dealing with regulators (DFSA, FCA, or PRA) is highly preferred.
