Solution Architect

Role Objective:

Solution Architect – Server & Storage to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade compute and storage infrastructure solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in server platforms, storage technologies, virtualization, and backup systems, as well as hands-on experience in pre-sales, solution architecture, and project execution. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, OEM vendors, and clients to create scalable, secure, and high-performing data center solutions aligned with customer requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities:

Solution Architecture & Design

• Design and deploy active server and storage infrastructure within enterprise or government data centers.
• Architect virtualized compute environments, including resource pooling, clustering, and private cloud setups.
• Design and implement rack layouts, cabling plans, and power requirements in compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
• Consolidate multi-domain technologies (servers, storage, virtualization, load balancing) into unified infrastructure solutions.

Virtualization & Networking Integration

• Integrate virtual networking and software-defined data center (SDDC) concepts into server/storage architecture.
• Collaborate with network architects on DC load balancer, firewall, and campus/DC network topologies.
• Design and support virtual networks, load balancers (F5/Kemp), and firewalls in hybrid environments.

Presales & Customer Engagement

• Participate in technical presales activities, including client workshops, requirement gathering, BoM creation, and proposal writing.
• Prepare high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) with documentation for RFP responses and solution presentations.
• Work closely with OEMs to finalize configurations and support project lifecycle stages.

Project Delivery & Support

• Oversee the deployment, integration, and validation of multi-vendor solutions across physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and documentation during installation, configuration, and migration activities.
• Support IT management tools and automation platforms that enhance monitoring, reporting, and system health.

Operations & Governance

• Maintain structured documentation for designs, deployments, and inventory.
• Participate in asset management, risk assessments, and compliance reviews related to infrastructure.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of infrastructure components.

Knowledge:

• Server: HPE ProLiant, Dell PowerEdge, Huawei FusionServer.
• Storage: SAN/NAS systems, RAID, iSCSI, FC; storage from Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, Huawei.
• Virtualization: VMware ESXi/vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, RedHat Virtualization, VMware vSAN, Veeam.
• Backup & DR: Backup Exec, Veeam, Acronis, enterprise-level DR planning.
• Load Balancing: F5, Kemp, and similar ADC technologies.
• Rack Planning & Cabling Standards: TIA/EIA, power/load planning.
• Awareness of IT monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds, etc.).
• Knowledge of virtual switches, vNICs, VLANs, and DC interconnects.
• Understanding of load balancer/firewall integration into virtual and physical environments.
• Awareness of campus/DC network topologies and protocols.

Education/ Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) / RedHat Certified Virtualization Administrator
• F5 or Kemp Certified Engineer
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Virtualization Specialist

Work experience:

• 10+ years of experience in data center server/storage design and delivery.
• Proven experience with Redhat OpenShift.
• Proven expertise in enterprise infrastructure for large corporate or government clients.
• Hands-on deployment experience across multi-vendor environments (e.g., HPE, Dell EMC, Huawei, NetApp).
• HPE ASE/MASE, Dell EMC Proven Professional, or Huawei HCIE – Storage
