Senior Supervisor – Housekeeping

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Supervise and coordinate housekeeping team activities, including room attendants, public area cleaners, and laundry staff.
  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and service areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of work.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or service issues promptly.

Staff Leadership & Training

  • Train new and existing housekeeping employees on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and company policies.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Assist in conducting performance evaluations.
  • Promote teamwork and maintain a positive, professional work environment.

Inventory & Equipment Management

  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, amenities, and equipment.
  • Assist with inventory control and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily reports on room status, maintenance issues, and team performance.
  • Support scheduling, attendance tracking, and payroll input as required.
  • Coordinate with other departments (Front Office, Maintenance, Laundry, etc.) to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of housekeeping experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemical safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in using housekeeping management systems (PMS) is an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
