Job Purpose:

The Aluminium Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for Aluminium and glazing works—including doors, windows, curtain walls, cladding, handrails, skylights, and other architectural metal and glass structures. The role ensures that all tender submissions, quotations, and project budgets are technically sound, cost-effective, and aligned with client specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Estimation & Costing

  • Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications for Aluminium and glazing works.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material, fabrication, and installation costs.
  • Quantify materials and labor requirements using architectural and structural drawings.
  • Request and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for raw materials, glass, accessories, and hardware.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies in line with market conditions and company margins.

2. Technical Review & Coordination

  • Coordinate with design and production teams for technical clarifications and feasibility.
  • Verify compliance of proposed systems (e.g., Schüco, Technal, Reynaers, Gulf Extrusions, etc.) with project requirements.
  • Suggest value engineering alternatives to optimize material use and reduce costs.
  • Review shop drawings and BOQs for accuracy prior to submission or execution.

3. Tendering & Documentation

  • Prepare and submit tender documents, BOQs, and cost breakdowns within deadlines.
  • Ensure all estimates are supported by proper technical and commercial documentation.
  • Maintain an organized database of material prices, suppliers, and historical project costs.

4. Post-Tender & Project Handover

  • Support negotiations with clients and contractors during post-tender clarifications.
  • Assist the operations team during project handover to ensure alignment with estimated costs and scope.
  • Update and refine cost databases based on project performance and market feedback.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum
    5+ years
    of estimation experience in aluminium and glazing fabrication & installation in the UAE or GCC.
  • Strong knowledge of aluminium systems, glass types, and façade materials.
  • Proficiency in
    AutoCAD
    ,
    Excel
    , and estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with local market rates, suppliers, and fabrication standards.
