  • Analyze technical specifications and drawings provided by clients or architects to determine the scope of work.
  • Calculate quantities of glass and other required materials, considering waste and overage
  • Develop accurate cost estimates by factoring in labor, equipment, materials, and other associated costs
  • Coordinate with suppliers to get quotes for materials and equipment, ensuring the best price and quality
  • Prepare and submit detailed proposals that include scope, costs, schedules, and terms and conditions
  • Provide technical insights during client meetings, addressing any concerns or queries about the proposed solution
  • Collaborate with project managers to hand off the approved estimate details and ensure the project adheres to the proposed costs
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, pricing, and materials to ensure estimates remain accurate and competitive
  • Utilize industry-specific software to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the estimation process
  • Maintain accurate records of all estimation documentation for future reference or audit
  • After project completion, review the actual costs versus estimated to refine future estimation processes.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimation, in the glass or construction industry
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools specific to the glass industry
  • Ability to scrutinize technical drawings and specifications for accurate material and cost estimation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively present estimates and address client concerns
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills to perform accurate calculations
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers and vendors for the best prices and terms
  • Familiarity with different types of glass, their applications, and the latest industry trends
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales, project managers, and other stakeholders
