Role Purpose:

1. Position Purpose

The
Design & Technical Manager
leads both the creative design development and the technical detailing process, ensuring that EVA Interiors' luxury projects transition smoothly from concept to execution.

The role is responsible for maintaining EVA's
aesthetic DNA
, producing accurate
Issued for Construction (IFC)
documentation, and coordinating between design, planning, procurement, and site teams to guarantee flawless delivery.

Expected Outcomes

  • On-brand design concepts that meet client expectations.
  • Technically sound IFC packages released on time.
  • Zero major rework during site execution.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Design Direction & Leadership

  • Lead concept design, space planning, mood boards, and presentation decks.
  • Review and approve 2D/3D design outputs for visual and functional quality.
  • Ensure all projects reflect EVA's signature luxury aesthetics and storytelling.
  • Conduct client presentations with Relationship Managers and manage revisions.
  • Supervise visualizers and interior designers, ensuring consistency across all deliverables.

B. Technical Design & Documentation

  • Translate approved design into detailed
    IFC drawing packages
    (plans, sections, RCPs, joinery, MEP coordination, and finishes).
  • Manage the technical team (draftsmen/detailers) and ensure compliance with UAE codes and project standards.
  • Review and approve
    shop drawings
    ,
    material submittals
    , and
    joinery details
    before release.
  • Coordinate with MEP, structure, and site teams to resolve technical conflicts.
  • Supervise as-built documentation and maintain drawing revision control.

C. Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work with
    Planning Engineers
    to align design and IFC release milestones.
  • Coordinate with
    Procurement
    and
    QS
    for material compatibility and BOQ accuracy.
  • Collaborate with
    Project Managers/Site Engineers
    to verify on-site execution matches approved design intent.
  • Support
    Cost Control
    and
    Value Engineering
    discussions to optimize quality and budget.

D. Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Implement and maintain design and technical drawing standards.
  • Ensure document control protocols and revision logs are strictly followed.
  • Enforce proper change management (Variation Orders, Design Change Logs).
  • Conduct internal design/technical audits to ensure alignment with EVA standards.

3. Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in interior design
    , Architecture, or a related discipline
    .
  • 10–12 years
    of proven experience in
    luxury residential design and fit-out
    .
  • Strong creative portfolio combined with advanced technical drawing capabilities.
  • Expert in
    AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3Ds Max, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
    .
  • Deep understanding of joinery, finishes, MEP coordination, and construction detailing.
  • Previous leadership experience managing multidisciplinary design and technical teams.
