We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant/Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with gastrointestinal disorders, utilizing the latest surgical techniques and evidence-based practices. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing high-quality care and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients presenting with gastrointestinal conditions and develop comprehensive treatment plans
  • Perform a range of surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and open surgeries, tailored to patient needs
  • Manage pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care for patients, ensuring optimal recovery
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care and support for patients
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment options, procedures, and lifestyle modifications for enhanced recovery
  • Engage in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives to advance surgical practices and patient care
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, complying with healthcare regulations and standards

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Completed residency in General Surgery and a fellowship in Gastrointestinal Surgery
  • Active medical license to practice in the appropriate jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in gastrointestinal surgery, with a proven record of successful outcomes
  • Expertise in a wide variety of surgical techniques, particularly minimally invasive approaches
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • A collaborative work style and ability to thrive in a team-based environment
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development in the field of gastrointestinal medicine
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage
