QA Automation Engineer

Andersen is hiring a QA Automation Engineer (Java) in Abu Dhabi to support a major government digital transformation, improving public services, engagement, and overall operational efficiency.

The customer is a government entity that manages public affairs and oversees various corporate and philanthropic projects. The company is embarking on a transformative digital journey to enhance its operational efficiency and customer experiences.

The project focuses on digital transformation in the UAE to develop and support digital solutions, enhance social services, strengthen public engagement, advance international relations, and optimize administrative processes.

Responsibilities:

• Developing, maintaining, and improving mobile automation test suites using Appium+Java.
• Creating and extending a scalable automation framework (POM, utility layers, driver management).
• Designing and executing automated test scenarios for Android/iOS applications.
• Developing stable, reusable, and maintainable test components and helper libraries.
• Debugging test failures, analyzing logs, identifying root causes, and document findings.
• Maintaining test suites and ensuring the high reliability of automation runs.
• Writing and managing TestNG test suites, configuring parallel runs, and running tests on device farms.
• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitoring the stability of nightly builds.
• Participating in code reviews, ensuring automation code quality.
• Collaborating closely with developers, manual QAs, product teams to ensure feature readiness.
• Creating and maintaining QA artefacts: test cases, automation documentation, framework guidelines.
• Supporting and mentoring team members on automation best practices.
• Reporting automation coverage, progress, and providing recommendations for improving testing efficiency.

Must-have:

• Experience in QA Automation for 4+ years.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java (OOP, collections, exceptions, streams, multithreading basics).
• Practical experience in mobile test automation using Appium (Android/iOS).
• Experience designing Page Object Model (POM) and reusable automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of TestNG (annotations, parallel tests, data providers, test suites).
• Experience with Maven as a build and dependency management tool.
• Hands-on experience with ADB, iOS simulators/emulators, device farms (BrowserStack/BitBar optional).
• Strong understanding of REST API testing (RestAssured is a plus).
• Experience with Git (branching strategy, PR reviews).
• Ability to analyze logs, debug failures, work with console tools.
• Understanding of CI/CD (Jenkins/GitLab CI) and ability to integrate automation into pipelines.
• Experience with JSON/XML, basics of SQL.
• Knowledge of QA processes, test design techniques, and a bug lifecycle.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
