Government Relations Specialist

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and well-connected
Government Relations Specialist (Emirati)
to manage and enhance the company's relationships with federal, emirate-level, and municipal government entities across the country. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laws, regulations, and government processes, and will play a key role in ensuring smooth coordination, compliance, and execution of contracts between our organisation and government bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and government departments, authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Manage all legal and administrative formalities related to company licensing, registration, permits, and renewals.
- Ensure compliance with laws and government regulations pertaining to company operations and contracts.
- Draft, review, and facilitate approvals of contracts and agreements involving government entities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, decrees, and policy changes that may impact business operations.
- Build and sustain strategic relationships with key decision-makers within government agencies.
- Support in resolving any legal or procedural issues arising with ministries or government authorities.
- Represent the company in official meetings, discussions, and negotiations with government representatives.
- Coordinate with internal departments (Legal, HR, Operations, Finance, etc.) to ensure all government-related requirements are met.
- Support management in developing and implementing effective government relations strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- (Emirati)
– mandatory requirement - Bachelor's degree in
Law, Business Administration, Public Relations, or related field
. - Minimum
5–10 years of experience
in government relations or legal affairs within the country. - Proven experience in dealing with ministries, municipalities, and free zone authorities.
- Strong understanding of
laws, labour regulations, trade licensing, and contract formalities
between private and government entities. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both
Arabic and English
. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior government officials.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
Preferred Skills:
- Legal or paralegal background with experience handling government contracts.
- Existing network of contacts across relevant government agencies.
- Knowledge of company establishment procedures, tendering, and public sector compliance.
- Familiarity with e-government portals and digital documentation systems.
