About the Role
The Medical Sales Representative role is a mid-level, client-facing position focused on promoting and selling advanced biotechnology products to hospitals, laboratories, and physicians. This onsite position, based in Abu Dhabi, requires a dynamic professional with a strong background in medical sales, a deep understanding of biotechnology solutions, and the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with healthcare professionals. The role serves as a critical link between the biotechnology company and the medical community, ensuring that clients are well-informed about the latest products and their clinical applications, while also gathering valuable market insights to inform business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to promote biotechnology products to hospitals, clinical laboratories, and physician practices in the Abu Dhabi region.
- Serve as a knowledgeable medical liaison, providing detailed product information, clinical data, and technical support to healthcare professionals and decision-makers.
- Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and training sessions for medical staff, ensuring clear understanding of product benefits, usage protocols, and safety guidelines.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key opinion leaders, hospital administrators, laboratory managers, and physicians to drive product adoption and loyalty.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new business opportunities and inform product positioning.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, regulatory affairs, and technical support, to ensure alignment on product messaging and customer needs.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and market intelligence using CRM systems and regular reporting tools.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and company policies during all sales and promotional activities.
- Participate in industry conferences, medical exhibitions, and networking events to expand professional contacts and stay updated on industry developments.
- Provide post-sales support, addressing client inquiries, troubleshooting product issues, and facilitating ongoing education to maximize customer satisfaction.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven track record of at least 3-5 years in medical sales, preferably within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of biotechnology products, clinical workflows, and the healthcare landscape in the UAE or GCC region.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with a consultative sales approach tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in using CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and digital communication tools for sales tracking and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in an onsite environment, managing time and territory efficiently to achieve sales targets.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and ethical guidelines relevant to medical sales in the UAE.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is highly advantageous for effective communication with local clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Medical Technology, or a related field is required.
- Advanced degrees (e.g., MSc, MBA) or relevant certifications in sales or healthcare are considered an asset.
- Valid UAE driver's license and willingness to travel locally for client visits and events.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in medical sales or biotechnology is desirable.
