Job Summary

The Portable CNC Plasma Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a portable CNC plasma cutting system to cut steel and other metals accurately and safely according to technical drawings and production schedules. The position supports fabrication flow, ensures quality output, and helps meet production targets in a fast-paced workshop.

Key Responsibilities

CNC Plasma Machine Operation

  • Set up and operate the portable CNC plasma cutting machine.
  • Load cutting files (DXF, G-code) and select appropriate programs.
  • Position and secure metal sheets/plates or sections for cutting.
  • Monitor the cutting process and adjust parameters as needed (speed, amperage, torch height).
  • Ensure precise, clean, and consistent cuts according to drawings.

Interpretation of Technical Documents

  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, sketches, and cutting instructions.
  • Understand dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
  • Prepare nesting layouts to maximize material utilization.

Quality Assurance

  • Measure finished parts using tape, calipers, squares, and other tools.
  • Verify cut accuracy and quality before forwarding to next operations.
  • Report and correct deviations, defects, or incomplete cuts.

Machine Setup and Maintenance

  • Replace consumables (nozzles, electrodes, shields) when required.
  • Conduct daily pre-use checks on the machine and air supply.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machine rails, cables, and cutting area.
  • Report equipment issues promptly to workshop supervisor.

Safety and Compliance

  • Wear required PPE (helmet, gloves, safety boots, eye protection) at all times.
  • Follow all workplace health & safety protocols (including fire safety).
  • Ensure proper grounding and compressed air conditions before cutting.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free workspace.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2, AED2,500.00 per month
