Job Title: Accountant – Oilfield Industry

Reports To: Finance Manager / Head of Accounts

Position Overview:

The Accountant will be responsible for executing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company within the oilfield industry. The role involves managing petty cash, processing purchase and sales invoices, handling supplier payments, maintaining daily cash flow reports, and updating bank transactions. The incumbent must ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and in full compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control petty cash transactions, ensuring accuracy, proper authorization, and timely replenishment.
  • Record and post purchase and sales invoices in the accounting system in accordance with approved financial procedures.
  • Prepare and process supplier payments, ensuring supporting documentation and necessary approvals are obtained.
  • Maintain and update daily cash flow statements, tracking all inflows and outflows of funds.
  • Reconcile and record bank transactions on a regular basis, ensuring alignment between bank statements and company records.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Support budget monitoring and cost control processes related to ongoing oilfield operations and projects.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation, including invoices, payment vouchers, and supporting schedules for audit purposes.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve invoice or payment discrepancies and ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and relevant financial regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (or an equivalent qualification).
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems.
  • Sound knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
