Civil Estimator

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Estimator to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for civil, analyzing tender documents, supporting project planning and budgeting, and working within the company's ERP system.

• Estimating & Cost Analysis:

o Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work.

o Calculate the costs of materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related expenses.

o Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including foundations, roadworks, drainage systems, and structural elements.

o Develop accurate cost breakdowns for each phase of the project.

o Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings during the estimation process

o Prepare and submit competitive quotations and proposals based on cost estimates

• Project Coordination and Support:

o Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure estimates are aligned with project requirements

o Monitor project budgets and update estimates as needed to reflect any changes.

o Provide ongoing support during project execution, including reviewing and updating cost estimates, adjusting for any changes in scope, and tracking project costs.

o Identify potential risks and provide contingencies in the estimates.

o Suggest ways to reduce costs without compromising quality or project requirements.

• Quantity Surveying:

o Take-off quantities from plans and specifications for all relevant project elements.

o Maintain comprehensive records of quantities, materials, and associated costs.

o Ensure accurate tracking of materials and their delivery, as well as proper documentation for cost control

• Risk assessment and Mitigation

o Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential cost overruns and project delays.

o Recommend cost-effective solutions and mitigate risks through careful planning, design changes, and procurement strategies.

• Technical Documentation and Reporting:

o Perform detailed civil engineering analysis for various projects, including site development, road construction, drainage, and structural works.

o Maintain detailed records of estimates, cost breakdowns, and project changes.

o Ensure that all engineering designs and estimates are feasible, cost-effective, and meet the required quality standards.

o Assist in preparing financial assessments and reports for accounts

• Communication and Collaboration:

o Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure the accurate exchange of information regarding project scope, costs, and timelines

o Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure the accuracy of estimates.

o Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

1. Other Requirements:

• Solid understanding of building codes, zoning laws, and construction regulations.
• Stay updated on market trends, including changes in material costs and labor rates
• Proven ability to prepare detailed cost estimates, project bids, and competitive tenders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Buildertrend, etc.) and engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc.).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently

2. Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of Civil Estimator experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil and MEP construction processes, materials, and costs.
• Proficient in estimation software and tools (MS Excel, AutoCAD, or specialized estimating software).
• Experience using ERP systems for project management and costing is required.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3, AED4,000.00 per month
