Job Summary:

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of electricians and electrical technicians at the job site. This role ensures all electrical installations, maintenance, and repair works are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications, drawings, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate electrical workers to ensure timely and quality completion of assigned tasks.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Plan and allocate manpower, tools, and materials for daily work schedules.
  • Ensure installation of electrical systems such as conduits, wiring, lighting, panels, and power distribution are as per standards (e.g., DEWA/ADDC regulations).
  • Monitor work progress and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and project timelines.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Report project progress, issues, and manpower needs to the Project Engineer or Site Manager.
  • Coordinate with other trades (mechanical, civil, HVAC, etc.) to prevent work conflicts.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
  • Provide on-the-job training and technical guidance to junior electricians.
  • Maintain records of materials used and work completed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma or ITI Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in electrical installation and supervision (preferably in construction or MEP projects).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with testing tools and electrical measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
