Job Title:
Liferay administration / Developer

Experience: 3 to 5+ years (Relevant)

Job Location: Dubai.

Job Type: Contract 12 month and extendable.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Configuration

  • Install and configure Liferay Portal (e.g., Liferay 7 DXP) on application servers.
  • Set up clusters, external databases, mail servers, and integration points.

System Administration

  • Manage Liferay servers, including patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.

User & Access Management

  • Configure roles, permissions, and LDAP integration for identity management.

Maintenance & Support

  • Apply patches and security updates.
  • Perform backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • Handle portal configuration changes and content updates.

Performance & Security

  • Optimize server performance through caching and tuning.
  • Implement security best practices and hardening techniques.

Collaboration

  • Work with development teams for deployments and capacity planning.
  • Coordinate with network and enterprise application teams for troubleshooting.

Documentation

  • Maintain system documentation, implementation plans, and operational procedures.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with
    Liferay Portal administration
    (preferably Liferay DXP).
  • Knowledge of
    Java/J2EE
    ,
    Apache/Tomcat
    , and Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with
    LDAP
    ,
    ElasticSearch
    , and clustering.
  • Proficiency in
    shell scripting
    and automation tools.
  • Understanding of
    server architecture
    ,
    network topology
    , and DevOps practices.
  • Experience in
    performance tuning
    ,
    security hardening
    , and disaster recovery.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in Liferay administration.
  • Exposure to integration with enterprise systems and APIs.
  • Certification in Liferay System Administration (optional but valuable).
