Job Purpose

To ensure that all electrical works at project sites are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and authority regulations. The Electrical Engineer / Inspector is responsible for supervising, reviewing, and inspecting electrical installations, coordinating with the MEP team, and ensuring safe and timely delivery of all electrical works.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Inspection

  • Perform regular site inspections for electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Monitor construction progress, workmanship quality, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Verify installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Identify non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions to ensure compliance.

2. Technical Review & Compliance

  • Review electrical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for technical accuracy and conformity with design intent.
  • Ensure compliance with DEWA, Etihad Water & Electricity, and other relevant authority requirements.
  • Assist in resolving design or site-related technical issues in coordination with the MEP and design teams.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare inspection reports, site observations, and progress documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, inspection logs, and checklists.
  • Support project engineers in preparing snag lists and handover documentation.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Attend progress and coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants.
  • Report key issues, delays, or risks to the Senior MEP Engineer or Project Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience: 5–8 years of relevant site experience in electrical supervision or inspection. Successfully completed at least two full construction projects
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of DEWA and Etihad Water & Electricity regulations. Familiarity with electrical codes and standards applicable in the UAE
  • Soft Skills / Competencies: Excellent attention to detail, communication, and reporting skills
  • Languages: English (required); Arabic (advantage)
