Surveyor Topographer:

This role focuses on the measurement and representation of the Earth's surface, including creating topographical surveys, maps, digital terrain models, and determining geographical coordinates.

Common responsibilities

  • Data Collection: Using advanced equipment like total stations, GPS, and LiDAR to collect accurate spatial data on-site.
  • Mapping and Modeling: Creating detailed maps, plans, and digital terrain models (DTMs) of the land.
  • Analysis: Interpreting collected data to understand the terrain's features, such as elevations, depressions, and man-made structures.
  • Project Support: Working with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure projects are properly planned and constructed based on accurate topographical information.
  • Project Management: For senior roles, this can include overseeing projects, managing teams, ensuring data accuracy, and ensuring compliance with standards.
