Job Summary

SteamPL Industrial Projects & Engineering is seeking a technically astute and commercially sharp Technical Procurement Manager to join our team in Al Ain. In this critical role, you will bridge the gap between engineering requirements and supply chain strategy, ensuring the timely acquisition of specialized industrial materials and services. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute procurement strategies for complex engineering projects, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and project timelines.
  • Technical Evaluation: Review engineering drawings, bills of quantities (BOQ), and technical specifications to ensure accurate sourcing of materials and equipment.
  • Vendor Management: Identify, qualify, and manage relationships with local and international suppliers, ensuring quality control and compliance with project standards.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost comparisons and value engineering exercises to optimize project budgets without compromising quality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers and Site Engineers to forecast material needs and resolve supply chain bottlenecks.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and UAE commercial laws.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years in procurement within the construction, industrial, or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) sectors.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering is highly preferred; Supply Chain qualifications (CIPS) are a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read technical drawings and understand complex engineering specifications. Proficiency in ERP software.
  • Local Knowledge: Strong network of industrial suppliers and subcontractors within the UAE and GCC.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, negotiation prowess, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
