Venture Search are partnering with a leading regional investment platform, to identify a senior investment professional to help shape and expand its growing alternatives business. This individual will play a central role in building and steering the firm's VC/PE investment activities. This includes full ownership of the deal lifecycle, development of long-term portfolio strategy, oversight of team output, and deep engagement with ecosystem partners, founders, and investors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee sourcing, assessment, structuring, negotiation, and execution of direct VC/PE transactions, co-investments, and fund commitments.
  • Shape portfolio construction across stages, geographies, and sectors to achieve balanced, long-term performance.
  • Provide hands-on value-creation support to portfolio companies, including strategic direction, board-level interactions, and exit preparation.
  • Lead preparation and delivery of high-impact investment proposals for internal committees.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level team members.
  • Build strong relationships with founders, fund managers, investors, and industry partners to enhance deal sourcing.
  • Partner with business development teams to support fundraising initiatives for alternative investment products.
  • Represent the firm at industry forums, investor engagements, and ecosystem events.
  • Ensure that all investment activities meet regulatory standards and internal compliance requirements.
  • Oversee creation of investment memos, reporting packs, and periodic investor updates.
  • Contribute to high-quality quarterly and annual reporting and support senior leadership with insights on market trends and portfolio positioning.

Background & Experience

  • 10+ years' experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, M&A, or similar private-markets environments.
  • Strong record of executing and overseeing successful VC transactions.
  • Advanced capability in valuation, financial modelling, deal structuring, and term negotiation.
  • Experience leading teams and managing complex multi-stakeholder processes.
