Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced
DPS Resident (Data Protection & Backup Engineer)
to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise-level data protection, backup, and recovery environments. The ideal candidate will ensure data availability, integrity, and security while supporting critical business operations in a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, manage, and maintain
    Data Protection & Backup systems
    to ensure continuous availability and reliability
  • Perform
    capacity planning, data tiering, and optimization
    of backup and protection platforms
  • Support
    data migration, archiving, and retention
    in line with business and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure
    backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes
    are tested and functioning effectively
  • Troubleshoot and resolve
    Data Protection & Backup incidents
    , escalating complex issues to
    Level 3 (L3)
    support when required
  • Implement and enforce
    security policies, access controls, and compliance standards
    for file and object data
  • Maintain detailed
    documentation
    including configurations, procedures, and change records
  • Collaborate closely with
    application, infrastructure, and security teams
    to support data-related requirements
  • Mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and drive
    process improvements and automation
  • Participate in
    TARB (Technical Architecture Review Board) committee
    discussions as required

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Computer Science, Information Technology
    , or a related field
  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience
    in Data Protection, Backup, and Storage environments
  • Strong experience with
    enterprise backup and recovery solutions
    (e.g., Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, Dell EMC, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of
    data protection concepts
    , disaster recovery, and business continuity
  • Experience with
    file, block, and object storage
    technologies
  • Knowledge of
    data security, access controls, and compliance standards
  • Ability to work in
    mission-critical, production environments
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
