Photography Instrumentation Team Lead

Photography and Videography Instrumentation Team Lead
is chiefly is responsible for the planning and design of all the photography and videography solutions that apply to tests that take place at the
Abu Al Abyad Test Range
and off-site test activities involving the use of high speed cameras, cameras, infrared cameras, video recording drones, electro-optical flight tracking systems, etc..

This role is on-site and open to Expats (full relocation assistance provided).

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the relevant test specialist and the client to establish the optimum instrumentation for tests that require the application of. high speed cameras, cameras, infrared cameras, video recording drones, electro-optical flight tracking systems, etc.
  • With the relevant test specialist and the client, design a test equipment location plan that captures the required data for the test.
  • Produce a test procedure that the photography and videography technicians can follow and apply to capture the data at the relevant test.
  • Ensure that the photography and videography technicians capture the required data at the relevant test.
  • Ensure that the photography and videography technicians capture the required media at the requested marketing activities.
  • Lead the test engineers and technicians on creating the test reports and format the data to be inserted into these reports for the relevant test.
  • Ensure that the photography and videography test equipment is calibrated, maintained and used according to Range documentation
  • Maintain a technology watch to ensure that the equipment is being used in the optimum way and that new equipment is planned for as required
  • Work with the Engineering Manager to develop the skillsets of photography and videography engineers and technicians with regards to equipment of scope.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Knowledge of photography and videography
  • Knowledge of radiation and emissivity
  • Knowledge of ballistic trajectory calculations
  • Able to set up and operate high speed cameras, electro-optical tracker and similar related test equipment.
  • Able to train other on that equipment listed above
  • Ability to write clear and concise documents
  • Ability to mentor and lead team of engineers and technicians.
  • Flexible approach to work – willing to work overtime, ad hoc shifts or on customer sites as and when required.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
