UI/UX Lead

Reports To: Digital Strategy and Governance Manager

Location: Abu Dhabi

Role Purpose

Owns the full UI/UX function across digital products, ensuring user-centred design, heuristic quality, accessibility, and alignment with business needs. Produces hands-on UX design deliverables and oversees design work delivered internally or by external partners—without managing a design team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the UI/UX strategy, design direction, and experience standards across platforms.
  • Conduct persona mapping, user research, journey mapping, task analysis, and behavioural insights.
  • heuristic design principles across screens, workflows, and interactions.
  • Produce wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and interaction designs using Figma.
  • Maintain design systems, UI pattern libraries, and reusable component guidelines.
  • Conduct usability testing, A/B testing, and design evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Product, BA, Development, QA, and OutSystems teams on feasibility and delivery alignment.
  • Review, evaluate, and validate design outputs from external partners or vendors.
Technical & Design Competencies
  • Expert-level hands-on Figma experience.
  • Strong heuristic evaluation, accessibility, and information architecture skills.
  • Proficiency in interaction design, layout systems, and mobile-first design.
  • Experience with personas, behavioural insights, and journey mapping.
  • Familiarity with analytics and heatmap tools to support data-driven design.
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS fundamentals for effective collaboration with developers.
Behavioural Competencies
  • Strong storytelling, visual communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to balance user needs with business and technical constraints.
  • High ownership mindset and accountability.
  • Excellent collaboration, stakeholder alignment, and cross-team communication.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Arabic is preferred to support business and client needs.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in HCI, Interaction Design, UX Design, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of UI/UX experience, preferably in enterprise digital product environments.
  • Proven portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX capabilities and design outcomes.
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments.
  • Candidates fluent in Arabic are preferred to support business and client communication requirements.
Working Model
  • Embedded within agile squads.
  • Partners closely with Product, Development, QA, and Platform teams to ensure seamless delivery.
