Role Purpose:

The Regulatory Affairs Officer ensures that all food and cosmetic products comply with national and international regulations throughout their entire lifecycle—from development and market entry to post-market surveillance. This role serves as the primary point of contact between regulatory authorities, internal cross-functional teams, and external partners to ensure smooth, compliant product registration and market access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, compile, and submit registration dossiers and applications for food and cosmetic products to relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Manage and track the status of product registrations, renewals, and variations to ensure timely approvals and updates.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and third-party partners (e.g., distributors, consultants) to collect all required documentation for regulatory submissions.
  • Liaise with the logistics team to secure import permits for specific regions and ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Review product labels, packaging, and marketing materials (food and cosmetics) to ensure compliance with ingredient, nutritional, and claim regulations.
  • Verify that all product claims are properly substantiated and aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with packaging and marketing teams to implement necessary changes and obtain internal/external approvals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of regulatory affairs experience, with proven exposure to both the food and cosmetics sectors.
  • Knowledge of key regulatory frameworks such as EU Cosmetic Regulation (EC No. 1223/2009), GCC Standards, SFDA, UAE regulations, and others depending on target markets.
  • Strong understanding of ingredient safety, labeling requirements, and product claim regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with strong follow-up and documentation control capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory language into clear, actionable business guidance.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate with external stakeholders.
