Presales Solutions Engineer — Parking Systems (PMS & PGS)

Role Summary

Parkomax is seeking a Presales Solutions Engineer to lead technical discovery, solution design, and bid support for our Parking Management (PMS) and Parking Guidance (PGS) portfolio. You will translate customer requirements into robust, costed, and buildable solutions, run demos/POCs, and hand over first-time-right designs to delivery teams. The role blends presales leadership with implementation support.

Key ResponsibilitiesPresales (Primary)

  • Discovery & Qualification:
    Lead technical discovery (on-site/virtual), map use-cases, constraints, and success criteria; challenge and refine requirements.
  • Solution Design:
    Architect end-to-end PMS/PGS solutions (ANPR/LPR, RFID/QR, gate barriers, controllers, sensors, kiosks/POS, payment flows, integrations) with clear assumptions and options.
  • Proposals & Estimation:
    Produce SOW, BOQ/BOM, layout and network schematics, and value-engineered alternatives; ensure pricing accuracy and margin protection.
  • RFP/RFQ Response:
    Own compliance matrices, technical write-ups, risk registers, and method statements; coordinate inputs from product, projects, and partners.
  • Demos & POCs:
    Plan and deliver compelling demos/pilots; define acceptance criteria and success metrics.
  • Integration Readiness:
    Specify and validate integrations with ERP/HR, access control, payment gateways/POS, and third-party APIs; draft interface specs and test plans.
  • Stakeholder Enablement:
    Host technical workshops, conduct partner training, and support sales with competitive positioning and objection handling.
  • Handover to Delivery:
    Produce clean presales → delivery packages (drawings, configs, test cases, bill of materials, site readiness checklist).

Delivery & Support

  • Site Assistance:
    Support kickoff, commissioning, and snag-closure for strategic projects to de-risk designs.
  • Troubleshooting:
    Triage complex issues across hardware, firmware, software, and network layers; document fixes and feed learnings back into standards.

Documentation & Standards

  • Maintain reusable presales assets: solution blueprints, sizing calculators, checklists, and proposal templates.
  • Keep test reports, user guides, and troubleshooting playbooks current.

QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Computer Engineering (or related).

Technical Skills

  • 3–6 years in
    presales/solutions engineering
    for ELV/Access Control/PMS/PGS and smart mobility.
  • Hands-on with
    AutoCAD
    (must)
  • Working knowledge of:
  • PMS/PGS
    architectures (loops/ultrasonic/camera sensors), ANPR/LPR, controllers, barriers, kiosks/POS.
  • Networks & IT
    : VLANs, IP addressing, PoE, VPNs, Windows/Linux basics, SQL fundamentals.
  • Integrations
    : REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, SDKs, payment gateway/POS flows.
  • Strong troubleshooting across hardware/software; comfort with logs, packet captures, and serial/TCP tools.

Soft Skills

  • Clear, concise communicator (technical & non-technical audiences).
  • Structured problem-solver with strong documentation discipline.
  • High ownership; able to juggle multiple bids and deadlines.

Other

  • Willing to travel across UAE/GCC for surveys, demos, and pilots.
  • UAE driving license preferred; English required, Arabic an advantage.

Success Metrics (KPIs)

  • Proposal turnaround time & win rate.
  • BOQ/BOM accuracy and variance at delivery.
  • POC success rate against defined acceptance criteria.
  • Reusability of created assets (templates/blueprints adopted by team).
