The Role

The
Kiln Manager
is responsible for the efficient and reliable operation of the kiln section in the ceramic tiles manufacturing process. The role ensures firing quality, optimal fuel consumption, minimal wastage and smooth coordination between production, maintenance and quality teams. The Kiln Manager plays a crucial role in achieving desired product aesthetics, mechanical strength, and production targets.

What You Will Be Doing

• Oversee and control the operation of all kilns for wall, floor & porcelain tiles.
• Monitor kiln temperature curves, pressure and firing cycles to ensure consistent product quality.
• Analyze kiln performance data and implement improvements to increase yield and reduce rejection.
• Standardize firing programs for different product lines.
• Monitor and control fuel and power consumption. Implement energy-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
• Review kiln efficiency reports and ensure adherence to cost targets.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify firing-related defects.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and housekeeping in kiln areas.
• Coordinate with the quality department for feedback and corrective actions.
• Supervise kiln operators, firing supervisors, and technical staff.
• Conduct regular training on kiln operation, safety, and process control.
• Promote teamwork and continuous improvement culture within the department.
• Prepare daily and monthly reports on kiln performance, output, downtime, and fuel consumption.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure preventive and predictive maintenance of burners, rollers, drives and related equipment.
• KPIs: Kiln Production, specific fuel consumption and Compliance with safety and quality targets
• Implementing TPM activities in Kiln department to reduce MTTR, increase MTBF, zero defects, and zero losses.

Our Ideal Match

• Diploma in Ceramics / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's preferred).
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in the ceramic industry with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience in porcelain tiles manufacturing.
• Extensive experience in kiln operations and firing processes.
• Knowledge of kiln maintenance, refractories and production processes.
• Experience managing multi-unit kiln operations is preferred.
• Good understanding of the latest technological advancements.
• Strong people management skills and timely decision-making abilities.
