Job Summary

The Junior Accountant will support the finance department by handling daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with financial reporting for cafeteria operations, building maintenance projects, and real estate management activities. The role requires attention to detail, basic accounting knowledge, and the ability to work with multiple cost centers.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Finance

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions (sales, expenses, payments, receipts).
  • Maintain general ledger entries and ensure proper documentation.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Process invoices from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Reconcile bank statements, cash, and petty cash.

Operations Support (Industry-Specific)

  • Track cafeteria sales, expenses, and supplier payments.
  • Monitor maintenance project costs and job-related expenses.
  • Assist in rent, service charge, and utility accounting for real estate properties.
  • Maintain records for contracts, service agreements, and purchase orders.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure transactions comply with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist with VAT/tax calculations, filings, and documentation (if applicable).
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documents.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized accounting files (physical and digital).
  • Assist senior accountants with budgeting and cost analysis.
  • Coordinate with operations, procurement, and site supervisors.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (fresh graduates may apply).
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in service-based industries (cafeteria, facilities management, real estate).
  • Basic knowledge of VAT or local tax regulations.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
