We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting within the construction/contracting sector, with strong knowledge of UAE financial regulations, VAT requirements, and project-based accounting. This role is essential in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are highly preferred.
  • 10–15 years of accounting experience in the UAE, with at least 5 years in the construction/contracting industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE accounting standards, VAT regulations, and IFRS.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Fluency in Arabic & English is required

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting activities including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and project cost reports.
  • Oversee project-based accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring expenses.
  • Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT laws, including preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide all necessary documentation for annual audits.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, bank transactions, and project fund allocations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and site teams to ensure accurate financial tracking.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies following IFRS standards.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for cost control and profit optimization.
  • Support the Finance Manager/CFO in strategic planning and financial decision-making.
